We hope this book,\
will become the tangible memory
of those days spent at King

/

Dedication

For the numerous kindnesses and wonderful guidance shown us, we, the Seniors,
dedicate the 1958 King Eagle to Mrs. Audrey S. Kirby, who will always remain in
our hearts and cause our days at King High School to be more memorable. Your
thoughtfulness and understanding have made even our darkest moments seem not so
dark.

We deeply appreciate the sacrifices you have made and the work you have done
to make our class and our school better ones.

So, Mrs. Kirby, we gratefully dedicate Our Yearbook to you.

The most revealing and the most vital of all
records kept by the teachers is the Cumulative Re-
cord, which goes with a student wherever he may
attend school and which remains as a permanent
record of the school from which he graduates, .or
leaves. Not only a record of scholastic achieve-
ment through the years but also an indication of
the total development of the student, this Record
sal ways the basis for future guidance and coun-
seling.

We've been warned about those storm clouds in the east; we've been challenged by world leaders as being a
generation with a doubtful future. So what! Every class of '58 is proud to accept the warnings and challenges.
We look to the future — so soon to be our present — with not only ideals and inspirations, but also with the ability
to smile. This ability comes from what is proudly called twelve years of valuable experience at a democratic
and inspiring school. The years, 1946-1958, spent at King School are of great significance in our lives and to
the choices we will be forced to make. Everyone has personally felt the challenge and the privilege of learning
to live as you would have us live. Today and tomorrow we stand: STEADFAST OF PURPOSE.
